Emergency service

Gate stuck open? Stuck shut? We'll be there.

Emergencies don't wait for business hours. Neither do we. Our after-hours line — available to commercial customers — routes directly to a live technician, and our trucks are loaded for the most common gate failures, so we arrive with the parts to actually fix the problem.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How long do torsion springs typically last?

If your springs are correctly sized (basically, big enough) then they should last 100,000 to 200,000 open-close cycles. The heavier the spring, the longer it will last.

How can I tell when a spring is about to break?

Unfortunately, there's no way to look at a spring and know when it will break. You have to estimate based on daily cycle count and age. But if you have two springs and one breaks, the other will likely be close behind.

Is there a time of the year when springs break more often?

Yes! In the fall and winter, the dropping temperatures make spring wire more brittle. If a spring is close to end-of-life, a cold snap could cause it to fail.

Why can't a temporary spring clamp be a permanent solution?

Spring clamps are designed to rejoin a broken spring, to temporarily put a door back in operation while new springs can be made. But you can't rely on a clamped spring; if it broke in one spot, it's very likely to break somewhere else in the near future.
