Apprentice Overhead Door Technician
About Overhead Door Co of Vancouver
With over 60 years in business, Overhead Door Co of Vancouver (OHD) has installed and serviced every type of overhead door, loading dock, and gate across Western Canada. We're a family-owned and operated company, and we hold the only distributorship of Overhead Door™ products in BC — part of the original company that created, named, and continues to lead the industry.
We do safe. We do quality. We do it right. We are family. Our team lives those values every day, and it's why our average tenure is over 15 years.
The Role
The Apprentice Overhead Door Technician is a hands-on, entry-level role focused on new construction installations and larger service projects. You'll be paired with our senior technicians on site, learning the trade from people who've been doing it for decades — how to install and service rolling steel doors, sectional doors, high-speed doors, gates, and loading dock equipment.
This is where a career gets built. You don't need door experience to start; you need mechanical aptitude, a strong work ethic, and the drive to learn. As you develop your skills, you'll take on more responsibility, more complex work, and eventually lead jobs of your own. No two days are the same — different sites, products, and technical challenges.
Reports to the Field Operations Manager. Territory is Greater Vancouver.
